Nick and Lauren’s Grouse Mountain Proposal

As many of our fans and readers know, at Brian Gavin Diamonds we are suckers for great proposal stories.

While we usually expect to give and receive during the holidays, Lauren got more than she bargained for last December when her boyfriend Nick surprised her with a glowing, mountaintop proposal.

"Nick and I always make sure to do something for Christmas, so when he asked me if I wanted to go see the lights at Grouse Mountain, I didn't think anything of it. When he came to pick me up, he had even packed a picnic with a thermos full of coffee for me to sip on while he drove," said Lauren.

Upon arrival, the couple headed up the mountain towards the Light Walk, where twinkling lights and fresh white snow led the way through a picturesque fairytale. As the couple walked through the winter wonderland, Nick led the way to a romantic bridge, completely covered in Christmas lights. With carolers singing in the distance, Nick realized this was his moment.

"Nick called out to another couple exiting the bridge, asking them if they could take a picture of us. It was the perfect setting, and I still had absolutely no idea. I smiled wide and posed for a shot, noticing Nick moving out of the corner of my eye," she said.

An unforgettable event, Nick popped the question at the perfect moment; the photographer was able to capture the surprise and love that Lauren had in her eyes as he got down on one knee with a stunning Anita Halo diamond set in 18-karat white gold.

"We soaked in every second. I was standing on the bridge, not wanting to move," said Lauren. "I'm so grateful for the couple on the bridge that stopped to take our photo. I'm sure they were just surprised as me, and I will cherish the pictures forever."

In the end, all of Lauren's family knew about the proposal, with Nick asking her mother for permission and making a trip to her father's grave before he went ahead with his plans.
