Looking for diamonds for a 3 stone Trellis style ring

Hi Danny, I’m hoping that you can help me select some F-color, SI-1 clarity diamonds for a 3 Stone Trellis style engagement ring. I know that I want the center stone to be around a carat in size, but I’m not exactly sure what size the two accent diamonds should be, nor the best way to go about selecting them and arranging to have them set in the ring. Any insight you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks! – Steven G.

Hello Steven, the three stone trellis setting from Brian Gavin is a classic beauty which I think looks amazing with the accent diamonds being somewhere between one third to half the size of the center stone. I searched through our diamond inventory and think that this 1.021 carat, F-color, SI-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature hearts and arrows diamond is perfect for your needs, and that it will look amazing set between this matched pair of 0.41 carat, F-color, SI-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature diamonds which I found using the search for matched pairs feature provided on the Brian Gavin web site.

All three of the diamonds have been graded by the American Gem Society Laboratory (AGSL) with an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 on their Proprietary Light Performance grading platform, which uses Angular Spectrum Evaluation Technology (ASET) to measure the brightness of the diamonds and determine how they are making use of the light which is available to them within the room.

In addition, these diamonds exhibit a crisp and complete pattern of hearts and arrows, which delivers more brilliance, dispersion, and scintillation than diamonds which are not cut to the extremely high level of optical symmetry that is necessary to produce this pattern. A recent study published by the AGSL indicated that diamonds cut to higher levels of optical symmetry produce a higher number of virtual facets, and exhibit larger flashes of light (sparkle) than diamonds of comparable proportions which lack optical symmetry.

Speaking of proportions, all three of these diamonds have proportions which are within the center spectrum of the range designated for the zero ideal cut proportions rating by the AGSL, this is essentially the “sweet spot” and is widely recognized as producing a higher volume of light than “ideal cut diamonds” which are cut to the outer edges of the proportions criteria.

How to order this ring from Brian Gavin:

There are several ways to go about ordering a diamond engagement ring from Brian Gavin, you can start out by searching for a diamond, and then clicking on the blue button labeled “Select Diamond and Choose a Ring” which is located right beneath the orange “Buy Now” button on the diamond details page, or you can start with the ring and click on the blue “Select this Ring and Add a Diamond” button which is located right beneath the orange “Buy Now” button on the details page for the ring.

Assuming that you want to proceed with ordering the three stone trellis setting with the three diamonds which I’ve suggested, I recommend starting out from the product page for the ring, selecting the metal type and ring size, and then clicking on “Select this Ring and Add a Diamond” which will then provide you with the option to select the center stone.

To select the center stone, you can either adjust the search parameters available on the page to locate the diamond which I’ve suggested, or you can take the “Product ID” (AGS-104067789002) and use the Search option to find it and then click on the blue “Select this Diamond For Your Ring” to proceed to the next page which will prompt you to select the accent diamonds, and just follow the same procedure to find the two diamonds which I suggested, and then complete your order and arrange for payment.

Of course, you could also just contact one of our customer service representatives with the information provided on this page, and they’ll take care of the whole thing for you. Congratulations on your upcoming engagement and thank you very much for the opportunity to help you put it together!
