Looking for a Round Brilliant Diamond with Pear Shaped Side Stones

Looking for a Round Brilliant Diamond with Pear Shaped Side Stones

Hello Danny, I was hinting around with my girlfriend the other day, trying to figure out what she might like in the way of an engagement ring, and she told me that she really likes the look of a platinum engagement ring from which consists of a round brilliant with pear shaped side stones… I noticed that you offer a very similar ring on your web site called “the Summer” and think that she is more interested in the overall design of the ring than where it comes from. Can you help me select something exceptional in the way of a center stone; my budget for the diamond is around $20K. Thank you. – Sheldon P.

The Summer 3 Stone Engagement Ring:

The Summer 3 stone engagement ring with pear shape diamond accents is a very popular ring design Sheldon, and I do believe that it will meet your girlfriend’s expectations. The ring features an elegant open basket design, which flows quite smoothly into the ring shank.

There are quite a few Brian Gavin Signature round brilliant ideal cut diamonds available within the scope of your budget, so I selected several for you to consider, which will provide you with a nice range of options in a variety of carat weights, color, and clarities. All of the diamonds are graded by the AGSL with an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0.

Picking a Diamond Center Stone for a Ring:

Regardless of what your budget is for a diamond engagement ring, there will always be a variety of options to consider in terms of Carat weight, Color, Clarity, and Cut quality. Since Brian Gavin specializes in producing round brilliant and fancy shape diamonds of exceptional diamond cut quality, that factor of the 4C’s of diamond grading is something which you don’t need to focus upon.

All of the diamonds featured in our Brian Gavin Signature and Brian Gavin Blue collections, are cut to ideal proportions and an exceptional level of optical symmetry, which results in a higher volume of light return and a higher degree of sparkle.

With the diamond cut quality part of the decision making process out of the way, you can focus on figuring out your preference for carat weight, color, and clarity. For instance, you might like this 1.308 carat, F-color, VS-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond, because of the combination of a higher clarity and higher color.

Or you might want something larger like this 1.791 carat, I-color, VS-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond, which costs about the same price… The reality is that the two diamonds are going to exhibit the same volume of light return and the same sparkle factor, but this one will face-up a lot larger and is still going to be nice and bright in terms of body color.

Medium Blue Fluorescence Brian Gavin Blue DiamondAnd then there is this 1.563 carat, F-color, VS-2 clarity, round ideal cut diamond from the Brian Gavin Blue collection, which exhibits medium blue fluorescence when it is exposed to black light. The effect of medium blue fluorescence upon a diamond is quite pretty and many people find it appealing because it can help to boost the body color of a diamond. The photograph of the diamond which appears to the left, was taken while the diamond was being exposed to black light in a completely dark room, the beautiful neon blue color is only visible under these lighting conditions, the diamond will look perfectly normal under other lighting conditions.

Now if fluorescence is not your thing, you might prefer this 1.686 carat, G-color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond, which combines a slightly larger carat weight, which a body color which is near-colorless, and a mid-range clarity which is going to be completely eye clean.

But for right around the same price, you could jump up to this 1.715 carat, H-color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond. The only difference is one color grade, it’s certainly not something which anybody is going to notice, but it gives you a little more size.

And finally, if you’re really looking to maximize the size of the center stone, you might want to consider this 2.015 carat, J-color, SI-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond, which is right about the same price, but is obviously a lot bigger. We’ve dropped down a few color grades, which is something that you might notice if you’re actually looking for color in the diamond, but is not something which anybody would notice out in the real world if they were just looking at the diamond… In fact, it’s highly unlikely that they would notice anything other than how bright and sparkly the diamond is, because of its exceptional cut quality and the sparkle factor that results from such a high level of optical symmetry.
