Four ways to style your necklace
When styled right, fashion jewelry can completely transform your look from blah to wow! Don't just throw on any old piece of jewelry and consider your look "styled." Instead, put some thought into your outfit before adding a subtle or statement piece of custom jewelry to your look. These five guidelines for styling a necklace will come in handy the next time you're getting ready for work or a night out on the town:
1. Layer your look
Turn a single-stranded necklace, such as the Diamonds by the Yard 18K rose gold design by Brian Gavin, into a multi-strand piece by wrapping the chain twice around your neck. Another layering option is to pair multiple necklaces together. Stack mixed metals, such as the Bezel Pendant with Bead Chain necklace in rose gold, yellow gold and white gold together for a look that's on trend.
2. Open neckline
Use the neckline of your shirt or dress to frame the jewels draped around your neck. A scoop-shirt, button-down or deep-v neckline can be used to draw all eyes to your gorgeous diamond necklace. A Show-stopper that is sure to grab everyone's attention includes the sapphire pendant featured on the Elegance AA30 necklace design. An emerald cut center stone surrounded by 129 round brilliant diamonds is all you need to complete your outfit. Keep the rest of your jewelry to a minimum with Martini Cocktail earrings so your accessories complement, rather than compete, with one another.
3. Consider your length
Evaluate your outfit when accessorizing. If you're wearing a floor-grazing gown, a long-stranded necklace will complement your streamlined look. Shorter hemlines call for a shorter necklace, so keep your proportions in mind and within the same esthetic.
4. Accessorize to fit your mood
The best part about fashion is that you can use it to emulate the mood you're in. From punk to preppy and everything in between, accessories are a great way to pull all of your style elements together. That being said, you should definitely evaluate what vibe you are going for while dressing. It would look out of place, for instance, to pair the Coronet Diamond Pendant with a crop top and high-waisted cut-off shorts, as the look is just too relaxed for this elegant piece of jewelry. Instead, you might consider a more fun and youthful necklace such as the Diamond Star pendant or the Megan initial design.
