Classic Style Solitaire vs Modern Variations of Solitaire e-ring
“I don’t know whether I should have started shopping for a diamond engagement ring online by selecting the ring first, but I started out by picking a diamond from Brian Gavin that I’m hoping somebody else doesn’t purchase while I try and figure out what style of solitaire setting to go with, I had no idea that there were so many variations of solitaire e-ring! The only thing that I know is that my girlfriend told me that she likes a classic solitaire, but it seems like there are so many styles of solitaire ring to choose from, which style of Brian Gavin solitaire setting should I go with? I kind of like the classic Truth solitaire more…”
The Classic Truth Solitaire by Brian Gavin:
Brian Gavin Diamonds offers an extensive selection of solitaire style engagement rings, and that might seem confusing at first glance, but the reality is that the concept of a solitaire style engagement ring is simply a plain ring shank that features a four or six prong head configuration that holds the diamond center stone.
The classic truth solitaire by Brian Gavin (pictured above) is a recent variation that we came up with that adds a bit of modern flair to the traditional design of a four-prong solitaire diamond engagement ring. We wanted to create a prong configuration that was a bit more interesting, more detailed, than a straight four-prong head, and one which would allow the diamond to sit lower on the finger, thus creating a lower profile for the ring overall.
The classic Style Solitaire by Brian Gavin:
The classic Stye Solitaire engagement ring by Brian Gavin also offers a lower profile than most six-prong solitaire style engagement rings, because of the crown-like configuration of the six-prong setting. This is the timeless design that practically every woman on earth thinks of when they imagine a diamond solitaire engagement ring, and it is one of our most popular designs. The classic inspired solitaire by Brian Gavin pictured to the left features a half round ring shank, which is slightly rounded on the outside of the ring, where it rests between her fingers, and flat on the inside so that it can be engraved.
We also offer the classic style setting from Brian Gavin with a knife edge, which might sound ominous, but it really just means that the outer edge of the ring shank extends outward to a bit of a point, like the letter V, but the edge is rounded off slightly so that it feels comfortable on the finger; the inside of the ring shank is also flat so that it can be engraved with a special message, such as a nickname, or a special date, etc.
The Melissa solitaire by Brian Gavin:
Another very popular style of solitaire engagement ring is the Melissa solitaire by Brian Gavin, which incorporates our four prong truth head with a ring shank that combines the best features of a traditional solitaire style engagement ring, with a cathedral style ring shank. A cathedral ring is one which is designed so that the upper portion of the ring shank raises up in what is essentially an aeronautical variation of an A-frame, so that a portion of the depth of the diamond center stone rests between the two raised arches. We rounded off the top sections of the ring to make it seem softer in appearance, and flows better.
The Grace solitaire by Brian Gavin:
Four prong solitaire diamond engagement rings are extremely popular at the moment, but traditionally they set the diamond up pretty high on the finger, and we wanted to create a design that provided the look of a traditional four prong solitaire, but offered a lower ring profile on the finger, the Grace four prong solitaire by Brian Gavin delivers all of that with grace and beauty. Regardless of whether you prefer a four or six prong solitaire, or whether you prefer a classic solitaire, or one of the modern variations of traditional solitaire offered by Brian Gavin, we’re confident that she’s going to love it!
