Buying an Engagement Ring for New Year’s Eve
Hi Danny, I’m wondering whether there is time for me to order and receive a diamond solitaire engagement ring from Brian Gavin and receive it by New Year’s Eve? If it is possible, I’d like something in the range of one carat, F or G color, SI-1 or VS-2 clarity, in the new Brian Gavin Signature Cushion cut diamond. I’m open to the idea of blue fluorescence if it is not negatively impacting the appearance of the diamond. Recommendations truly appreciated! – Michael P.
Diamond Engagement Ring for New Year’s Eve:
The good news is that there is still time to order a solitaire diamond engagement ring from Brian Gavin and receive it in time to present it in time for a New Year’s Eve proposal, but we need to get going on this pretty quick because of the time constraints presented by the holidays.
I looked through the current inventory of Brian Gavin Signature Cushion cut diamonds and think that either of the two options are perfect center stones for a solitaire style engagement ring:
1.002 carat, G-color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature Cushion cut diamond, graded by the American Gem Society Laboratory (AGSL) with an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 on the Proprietary Light Performance grading platform, which integrates Angular Spectrum Evaluation Technology (ASET) into the cut grade, which traditionally only takes the polish, symmetry, and proportions into account.
This 1.088 carat, F-color, SI-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature Blue Cushion cut diamond, exhibits medium blue fluorescence when exposed to black light, as can be seen in the photograph featured to the left, which was taken in a completely dark room.
The reality is that these diamonds are going to look practically identical when viewed under normal lighting conditions, but the F-color diamond will obviously face-up a little whiter and brighter because of the combination of the F-color and medium blue fluorescence.
AGS Ideal-0 Cut Grade for Fancy Shape Diamonds:
The AGS Ideal-0 cut grade which is part of the grading scale for diamonds created by the American Gem Society Laboratory is most recognized as it applies to round brilliant cut diamonds, it is the highest grade available and takes polish, symmetry, proportions, and light return into account.
It has been estimated that fewer than 1% of all the round brilliant cut diamonds produced in the average year qualify for an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 from the AGS Laboratory, the number of fancy shape diamonds which qualify to receive the overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 must be absolutely miniscule… yet every Brian Gavin Signature Cushion cut diamond is carefully crafted to ensure that it receives an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 so that our customers are ensured that the diamond they select from our inventory is going to exhibit the highest volume of light return possible, along with full spectrum brilliance, dispersion, and scintillation.
Solitaire Engagement Rings for Cushion Cut Diamonds:
Brian Gavin Diamonds offers a broad range of solitaire style engagement rings that accompany our Brian Gavin Signature Cushion cut diamonds perfectly. I’m very excited at the moment about the new Brian Gavin Lace Solitaire which is pictured above in 18k white gold with diamond accents embedded into the sides of the band. It offers the simplicity of a traditional solitaire, with a little flair in the form of a criss-cross milgrain design and accents in the form of diamonds, blue sapphires, pink sapphires, or green tsavorite. Naturally, we have other options available such as traditional solitaire style engagement rings, but these look stunning set with a cushion cut diamond!
