BGD Anita Custom Halo vs French Set Halo Engagement Ring

BGD Anita Custom Halo vs French Set Halo Engagement Ring

My girlfriend really likes the French set halo engagement ring, which we’ve had a chance to see in-person at a local jewelry store, but they don’t happen to carry the diamond quality which Brian Gavin offers… the last time I checked, the halo settings which you offered were beyond my budget, but one of your customer service representatives just sent me a link to the Anita custom halo ring and it looks beautiful; I’m wondering how it compares to the French set halo that my girlfriend liked, and would appreciate some recommendations for the best diamond I can get for around $7k + setting. Thanks – Mario C.

A halo setting for practically every price range…

As a designer and manufacturer of fine jewelry, Brian Gavin Diamonds produces jewelry in a variety of qualities and price ranges in an attempt to accommodate the needs and preferences of as many clients as possible… We’ve received quite a few requests over the past few months for a halo style engagement ring which features a lower carat weight of accent diamonds, which could therefore be offered at a lower price point than rings like the Kirsty’s halo and Sarah halo are designed with more diamond weight, and thus cost more.

anita-halo-diamond-engagement-ring-from-brian-gavinThe Anita halo is based upon the design preferences of a client named Anita, who like you, liked the French halo style designer setting that she saw in-person at a local jewelry store, but she also wanted a diamond of better cut quality than offered by her local jewelry store. One of the challenges we faced in designing this ring, is that the ring shank measures about 1.9 millimeters, thus the diamonds featured in this ring are smaller in diameter than the diamonds set in some of our other halo settings, but it provides our customers with various options to consider and enables them to choose the ring style which is best suited for their personal preferences and price range.

The diamonds set in the Anita halo from Brian Gavin are smaller in size so that we could accommodate the design preferences of Anita, however the weight of accent diamonds set in the ring is approximately 0.53 carats t.w., which is about a third of a carat more than the ring which both of you were considering.

The diamond color is also higher, we use F-G color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature melee, which is cut to the same exacting standards as our Brian Gavin Signature round hearts and arrows diamonds, and thus you are ensured that the accent diamonds will deliver the same amazing light return and sparkle!

Best Brian Gavin diamond for $7k

People take different approaches when determining which combination of clarity and color best suits their preference for diamond quality, therefore if your preference leans towards diamonds of higher color, I’d recommend this 0.931 carat, G-color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond because the G-color will give it a nice, bright, white appearance, which is the offset for coming in just under the one carat mark.

If it is important to you that the carat weight of the diamond be over the one carat mark, then you could drop down in color a few grades and select this 1.01 carat, I-color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Blue fluorescent diamond which exhibits medium blue fluorescence when exposed to black light. The blue fluorescence will help to offset some of the body color of the diamond, and the cut quality will add to the perception of brightness and sparkle!

If you prefer diamonds which do not exhibit blue fluorescence, then this 1.078 carat, I-color, SI-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond is an excellent choice! The reality is that any one of these diamonds will look amazing set in the Anita halo, so you really can’t go wrong with any one of them!
