Where to buy rose gold engagement ring
My girlfriend seems to absolutely love her grandmother’s wedding set, which is made of 18k rose gold, and I’m wondering if you can tell me where to buy rose gold engagement rings. The diamond that I’m looking at is this 1.20 carat, H-color, VS-1 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond with strong blue fluorescence, because her favorite color is blue, and I think that she would love the Marcela split shank setting, but the metal type is indicated as platinum. Would it be possible to custom order the ring and have it made in 18k rose gold? I spoke with a local jeweler about making this ring in rose gold and he didn’t seem excited at the prospect of working with pink gold. – Terry P.

The color of gold jewelry is defined by the mixture of other metals that are mixed with yellow gold to change the color, and hardness, which in turn also dictates the alloy content of the gold, e.g. 10k gold, 14k gold, 18k gold, 22k gold, 24k pure gold, etc.
Most 18k rose gold is comprised of 75% yellow gold which has been mixed with 22.25% copper and 2.75% silver, to create a luxurious pink color. While the color of the gold is affected by the copper content of the ring, it is no different working with pink, white, or yellow gold, as far as the jewelers at Brian Gavin Diamonds are concerned.
