Marrying the Girl Next Door
To be young and in love. Our customer Tyler first met the love of his life in Austin, Texas. Jessie, the woman who stole his heart, lived in Texas' quirkiest town and attended University of Texas. Conveniently enough, Jessie lived next to one of Tyler's close friends whom he'd visit frequently. Soon the sweet, literal "girl next door" became more than a friend.
From bonfires to dinners, both Jessie's friend and her neighbor's buddies would partake in weekend fun. Naturally, they hit it off, and the two soon became an inseparable item.
After seven years together, there was no question that Jessie was the only woman Tyler envisioned spending the rest of his life with. The two had moved to Houston to start their blossoming careers, just a short distance away from our showroom. We were elated that Tyler reached out to us to pick out the perfect engagement ring for Jessie to treasure forever. "We planned a trip to Napa Valley, stopping first in San Francisco for a few days," Tyler explained. "I definitely wanted to propose in Napa, but I was nervous that Jessie's ring wouldn't be finished by the time we got on the plane! I knew we couldn't postpone the trip, but the Brian Gavin Diamonds team assured me that they would do everything in their power to finish the ring and mail it out to me while we were in California," he said.
Captured by the suspense? Not to worry—our customer's proposals are serious to us, and we pulled out all the stops to get the ring to Tyler before the big day. "Thankfully things worked out, and I got word that the ring was in transit on our way to Napa," Tyler continued. Since the ring was in route, he had to plan the perfect distraction to keep Jessie's mind occupied and unaware of his next move.
Tyler arranged for Jessie to enjoy a relaxing morning massage at the spa overlooking a Napa vineyard at their bed and breakfast. While Jessie was busy getting pampered, Tyler managed a quick trip to FedEx station to pick up the ring and make it back in time before Jessie could become suspicious.
That afternoon, the couple hopped on a gondola ride up the mountain to Sterling Vineyard. During a quiet moment overlooking the valley, Tyler turned toward Jessie to express his love for her and pop the question.
"I had a hunch he might be proposing during the trip, but I thought it would happen during one of the first days of the vacation in San Francisco," Jessie said. "When we were on the gondola and Tyler asked me to marry him, I was so surprised and happy. Without a doubt in my mind, I said yes!"
"The ring was so sparkly!" Jessie described. "The design was so much more intricate than I imagined. I had given Tyler many helpful hints, but the ring was so much better than I ever hoped for. Tyler being so involved in the diamond selection and the design process made the moment that much more special," she continued.
We stayed in touch with Jessie and Tyler throughout their engagement and had the opportunity to create a dazzling matching Novela wedding band for the bride's wedding day.
