Size 6 eternity ring - does diamond quality matter?

Size 6.0 diamond eternity ring, does diamond quality matter?

Eternal Grace Pave Set Diamond engagement ring“All right, I feel a bit guilty about this, so I’m going to confess that I tried shopping for my size 6.0 diamond eternity ring from a local jeweler here in my home town of San Francisco, before deciding to bring this project to your attention, because I’m not all that sure that diamond quality matters for smaller stones; but then again, I was able to notice a distinct difference between the sparkle of the accent diamonds set in the Eternal Grace pave setting that my Brian Gavin Signature round diamond is set in, and the diamonds set in the eternity ring that my local jeweler showed me and described as being of the highest quality…”

“While I am not planning on wearing the two rings together, I would like the diamonds set in my jewelry to exhibit the same amazing sparkle that the diamonds in my engagement ring display; so what’s the trick? What do I need to do to ensure that all of my diamond jewelry looks as amazing as my Brian Gavin engagement ring?”

Diamond Cut Quality matters, regardless of size:

The fact is that diamond cut quality matters, regardless of how big or small the diamonds happen to be, which is why the accent diamonds in all Brian Gavin Signature engagement rings are hand selected from Brian Gavin Signature melee cut diamonds, that are produced to the same exacting standards as larger Brian Gavin Signature round diamonds, thus the sparkle factor and overall degree of visual performance will be comparable.

The factors that contribute to the degree of light performance exhibited by a diamond, are the proportions, polish, symmetry, and optical symmetry; if any one of these characteristics of diamond cut quality are not the very best, then the overall visual performance of the diamond will suffer; which is why Brian Gavin doesn’t skimp on diamond cut quality, regardless of how small the diamonds used in the ring might be.

Size six basket prong diamond eternity ring:

When you’re talking about melee cut diamonds for a size six eternity ring, they aren’t actually that small, and thus the overall diamond cut quality, and the volume of light return and sparkle factor that is derived from it, is of critical importance to the look of your diamond eternity ring; which is why we use only F-G color, VS clarity, Brian Gavin Signature melee cut diamonds when we make rings like the open basket eternity ring by Brian Gavin (see above), which features accent diamonds weighing about one tenth of a carat each, which means that they measure about 3 mm in diameter, which is pretty good size!

Clearly you were able to see a distinct difference between the volume of light return and sparkle factor of the Brian Gavin Signature melee cut diamonds that we set in your engagement ring, and the “high quality melee cut diamonds” used by your local jeweler, which is undoubtedly why you returned to us for this ring… we’re willing to look the other way, but just this once ;-)
