Brian Gavin Wedding Set in 18K White Gold

Pave set diamond engagement ring and matching band

“As near as I can tell, the Legara pave set diamond engagement ring and matching band by Brian Gavin is the closest match that I’m going to find to the diamond wedding set that my girlfriend fell in love with based upon a picture that she saw in a magazine advertisement from that store that is so famous for their blue box, which I’m just not willing to pay for. The only concern that I have is the gap that appears to be visible between the engagement ring and wedding band, which I don’t see in the magazine ad, is there a way to fix that?”

How closely do matching wedding bands fit together?

It is a little known fact that the wedding band and engagement ring pictured in that advertisement that you are referring to are not aligned 100% flush in the photograph, which is because the prong configuration extends out beyond the edge of the ring where it meets the finger, and this causes the matching wedding band to set apart from the engagement ring just a bit.

The only way to design the pave set diamond engagement ring and matching wedding band, so that the two rings sit perfectly flush next to each other, would be to either raise the prong configuration up higher on to the ring, so that the two bands can sit flush together, beneath the head configuration; or to design the matching wedding band with a bend in it, so that it wraps around the prong configuration.

However the reality is that the gap that exists between the two rings is very slight, and we rather like the look created by the two matching pave set bands, and it is a very popular design, as you’ve noted.

What quality are the accent diamonds in BGD Signature rings?

Brian Gavin uses Brian Gavin Signature melee that is F-G in color, and VS in clarity in all of the diamond engagement rings that we build. The word “melee” by the way, is the industry term used to describe round brilliant cut diamonds that are smaller than one fifth of a carat (0.20 carats) in size; the word “melee” is pronounced mel-lee.

The Legara pave set diamond engagement ring by Brian Gavin is what is known as an illusion trim solitaire, which uses four beads of metal to hold each accent diamond in-place, which make the diamond melee appear to be larger in size, and this makes the diamond engagement ring look brighter and even more substantial.

The Legara pave set diamond engagement ring by Brian Gavin is set with twenty two, Brian Gavin Signature melee diamonds, which measure approximately 1.4 millimeters in diameter each. The diamonds are pave set in the illusion style described above, and cover about seventy percent of the ring shank, making this an absolutely stunning ring style that wraps her finger in diamonds!

Brian Gavin builds every ring to order, so please allow about 10 business days for this ring to be built for your bride; and of course, we can custom make a version of this ring to sit more flush if that is what you really want, but the ring is extremely popular as it is, and is the closest match to the ring that your girlfriend expressed an interest in.
