Choosing diamond for rose gold solitaire e-ring

Choosing diamond for rose gold solitaire e-ring

“I really thought that I wanted a platinum classic knife edge style solitaire, but then I happened to run across the Alice solitaire designed by Sholdt in 18k rose gold, and I don't know what to say, I just seemed to be really drawn to it. The problem is that in the course of trying to learn about diamonds online, I ran across an article which said that rose gold is the best metal to set diamonds of warmer color in, and I don't really like the look of yellow diamonds... does rose gold look good with white diamonds? I really think that I prefer diamonds that are D-E-F in color, I might be able to go G-color if it is a really white G-color diamond, but don't think that I would be happy with anything lower than that in color. What do you suggest? My target range is 1.20 – 1.49 carats, VS-2 makes the most sense to me and I'm open to the idea of blue fluorescence.”

What color diamonds look best in Rose Gold?

Rose gold is definitely one of the best jewelry alloys to select for diamonds that are warmer in color because the warmer pink tones of rose gold seem to enhance the natural color of the diamond; however this does not mean that rose gold is only suitable for diamonds that are warmer in color. The fact is that rose gold looks fantastic set with diamonds of all colors, including diamonds which are colorless to near colorless, so a D-E-F color diamond will look great set in the 18k rose gold Alice solitaire from Brian Gavin.

The first diamond that comes to mind is this 1.335 carat, F-color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature diamond with medium blue fluorescence, it has an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0 and would look stunning set in this ring!

You could hop up to this 1.301 carat, D-color, VS-2 clarity, Brian Gavin Signature round diamond which has negligible fluorescence, but when I compared the two diamonds side-by-side the difference in color was not readily apparent to me from a top down perspective... I can see the difference in color between the two diamonds when I view them from a side profile under the controlled light of the diamond grading light (in a completely dark room) but that is not how you will be looking at the diamonds, and thus I think that the F-color diamond is an excellent option and it will save you some cash, plus I just love diamonds with medium blue to strong blue fluorescence!

One thing to consider is that a lot of people think that they need a diamond which is higher in color for the diamond to look bright, however the proportions of Brian Gavin Signature diamonds are optimized to deliver the highest volume of light return and sparkle factor, which makes them extremely bright while delivering a virtual balance of brilliance and dispersion regardless of body
